Building one of Finland’s largest solar power parks has required careful consideration of numerous responsibility issues. In the Heinineva project, responsible practices are implemented in areas such as supply chains, occupational safety, and permit and environmental matters.
With the new agreement, Enersense will be responsible for the maintenance tasks of the Heinineva solar park located in Lapua in the coming years.
The Heinineva solar power plant, to be completed in late 2025, will be one of the largest in Finland and the first ever to be built in a phased-out peat production area. There will be around 123,000 solar panels installed in the park.
Construction of the substation in Heinineva, Lapua, took roughly 10 months and enables the electricity generated by the EPV solar farm to be transmitted into the main grid. This will start in September.
EPV’s first industrial-scale solar park is to be built in Lapua. All main contractors have now been secured for the project. The construction and installation phases of the project will provide employment for more than 100 people.
The Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment awarded aid of EUR 12 million to the Heinineva project in Lapua.
